"Oh, Darlin' don't you ever grow up...don't you ever grow up...stay this little."
~Taylor Swift
Happy Mother's Day to my Mom, who taught me everything, who prayed that I'd turn out alright, and who always believed in me.
Happy Mother's Day to me.

Someday, they do have to grow up.
We don't necessarily like it, and we look back at the pictures that we took...thinking, "where has the time gone?" (Just like we hear our parents and Grandparents saying.)
Sure, when they were little, we wanted to do nothing more than snuggle them.
Nothing more than to smell that sweet brand new baby smell.
We wanted to keep them from harm, and held them close.
We fed them, we gave them their binkys and lovies at night. We watched them take their first step, heard them say their first word.
We cried when we were tired beyond exhaustion. We were afraid when we let them go to preschool the first day.
We were unsure if we were doing things right....with potty training to sleep schedules to bathing...everything. And, we had our Moms to ask advice. This is when our Moms became our best friend. Our mentors, our wise old owls...and this is when the beauty in our Mothers shined the brightest. They were doing what they knew how to do, and they were soo much better at it than us.
My Mother, holding my babies...she is beautiful. A Grandmother, a friend, a calm and all-knowing being.
I loved my Mom more with each child I had.
I don't know what I would do without her. We are blessed to have her...thank you, God.
I watch my three little girls grow up. How did Rylee become 13?
How is it possible Regan is graduating 5th grade at the end of the month?
How is my baby going to be done with 2nd grade?
I look back at the snapshots of my life. Of my Mother. Of my Grandmother. Of my Aunts. Of my sister, and of my girls.
I look back, and I smile...
...I cry...
and I am humbled...by being lucky enough to be a part of this wild and crazy thing they call life...and to have what I do and who I do with me...and the others who are watching from Heaven.
I am not perfect. I have much to learn.
I am blessed, though, for having the time on this Earth to try to stumble through this life with people I love and make memories all the while.
Just do me a favor, girls, and don't grow up so fast. I miss your little beings already.
And do me a favor, Mom...never stop giving me advice...and love.
Its something that no matter how old you are, or how smart you think you are, you always need.
Love you girls to the moon and back, and Mom, love you most.
Happy Mother's Day to me.
