Grateful for new adventures

Sometimes in life, we have to make choices.  Today was the auditions for Nutcracker Ballet 2011.  This is the first year in 7 that we have not been a part of it.  We had to make choices.  The girls had to decide what they wanted to pursue.  The girls wanted to pursue irish.  Go for it.  Giving up ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, irish with a teacher they grew to love.
Now they are at a different point in their lives.
They have four cousins who moved away that shared the Nutcracker experience with them for the last few years.  They loved nothing more than being a part of this ballet with their cousins.  They have a cousin Gannon...who loved dance and loved irish with Allie, but football became a sport that he came to love equally, and he, like us, had to choose.  He chose football.  Its nothing bad that happened per se, but there was plenty to be concerned about with the dance school in the last year or so.
With decisions being made for a passion for irish that they all 3 want to follow and pursue...well, that leaves us not doing the Nutcracker.
But, it opened more doors for us to travel from city to city, from state to state to watch our children dance irish...and make themselves proud...and of course, they already make us proud.
It's a long haul up to St. Paul and back every Wed....but the thought of going up more than one time per week has already been put out there.
Do what you love, love what you do, and be thankful for the experiences that have come our way.
On to new adventures.
Its' what life is all about.
